Welcome

Welcome to the Femme Archive, a collection of pedagogy and process documents by Andréa Stella and Jesse Rice-Evans.

The Site

The Posts section holds documents, including memes and macros, screenshots of text and email exchanges, and linked excerpts from our co-taught course materials, including assignments, the syllabus, and informal communications with our students.

The Project

The Femme Archive project evolved from our collaborative work on access-centered pedagogy and from our discovery that traditional academic writing and publishing does not currently offer enough creative space for political writing on pedagogy, illness and disability, and transformative access methodologies that counter hegemonic expectations of behavior and work in the university classroom.

About the Authors

Stella and Rice-Evans have been collaborators and co-teachers since 2016, and have taught two freshman inquiry writing seminar courses at the City College of New York, Self and Other in Society and That’s So Gay: Queer Texts in the U.S. They’ve presented their work at the Computers and Writing conference and the Conference on College Composition and Communication.
